warpaint.

curent musical obsession.
i'm very bitter about missing them at the upcoming laneway.
but its that or be poor[er].

i used to grow a bunch of these when i was little.

so i was quite taken by this huge bank of them,
growing wild on mt eden.
i went there yesterday to read a book in the sun.

Monday, November 29

dust.

is the latest collection by australian jewellers maniamania.
how beautiful is this video.
how beautiful is bambi.

i finally went to black box.

to be honest i didn't think it was nearly as amazing as it had been made out to be.
but i saw these rings.
they're by chronicles of never.
and i'm obsessed.

Tuesday, November 23

eden garden.

it was super sunny yesterday,
so i finally got a chance to try out my new canon g12.
at eden garden. that place is so pretty.

Saturday, November 20

these hallows.

i have already mentioned the latest tourist magazine.
but these were much too pretty and dreamy and perfect to choose just one.
so they can just have a post of their own.

photography by grace dennis and lauren alice avery.

Friday, November 19

the suburbs.

arcade fire + spike jonze.

Monday, November 15

extreme stop motion.

i feel like the need to blink severely impaired my viewing of this video.
i also feel like everyone i know is going somewhere amazing this summer,
jealous.

Sunday, November 14

heavy metal.

hard decisions were made yesterday.
skull vs pyramid. quantity vs quality. and which finger vs available sizes.
i am now the proud owner of a stolen girlfriends club pyramid ring in onyx,
from their recent heavy metal collection.

Saturday, November 13

line dot line.

is the graphic design exhibition, as part of aut's AD10 this weekend.

my faves were  frana holland's ritual, parisa rezaei's bad magazine and rebekkah farrell's never after.
but i may have been biased having already discovered their work online.

the best bit for me was that it confirmed that this is definitely what i want to study,
just as soon as i finally finish my bachelor of architectural studies next year.
now i just have to decide undergrad vs postgrad and location.

pie.

i have been meaning to find one of these for a while.
what is pie you ask?

Pie is a New Zealand based newspaper.

Rather than us tell you what we´re about, we´ve created this handy pie diagram to explain it all for you.

you can get them from magnation or online/instore at broken puppet boutique.

Thursday, November 11

earth from above.

is a series of aerial photographs by french environmental artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand
it made me want to quit uni, pack my bags and get on a plane even more than usual.
if you're in auckland its in aotea square until december 19 and you should definitely go see it.

Wednesday, November 10

efterklang.

this video makes me want to go home a little.
wide open spaces always look so pretty and green in spring.
listen to their whole album here.

Tuesday, November 9

as of today i am on holiday.

i sat my archtech207 exam this morning.
and am now two thirds of the way through a mostly useless degree.

hello four months of sweet sweet nothingness.

i now have time for taking photos and going for walks and making jewellery and sewing and shopping and reading and cooking and partying and picnics and redeeming birthday vouchers/buy-it-and-ill-pay-you-backs and finding new music and house hunting and other equally exciting things!

always | sometimes | anytime.

is a beautiful new site that launched today.

i woke up to it appearing multiple times in my reader.
including this interview with its creator Courtney Sanders,
on one of my fave blogs/magazines monster mouse patrol.

so i'm going jump on the bandwagon and tell you to go and have a look!
